Ben Lippincott is a research project coordinator at Shepherd Center and oversees consumer outreach and training activities of the Wireless RERC. Most recently, he has been collaborating with AT&T on a series of educational workshops, called Wireless Independence Now (WIN), aimed at informing consumers with disabilities about the accessibility features found in Apple's iOS and Google's Android operating systems. Ben is also the editor for the Wireless RERC consumer-focused newsletter, Re:Wireless, that reaches over 2500 members of the Wireless RERC's Consumer Advocacy Network (CAN).
He has worked in assistive/accessible technology for over 14 years. For the past five years he has been a disability/accessibility advisor on AT&T's Advisory Panel on Access and Aging (AAPAA), and he has been a past member of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) working group developing consumer outreach materials on the hearing aid compatibility (HAC) ratings of cell phones. Prior to working at Shepherd Center, he was in sales/marketing for IBM.
