The Center for Advanced Communications Policy (CACP) is seeking a self-motivated, critical thinker/problem solver, graduate or undergraduate student. The social impacts of advanced technologies is a focus of CACP with a particular emphasis on wireless and next-generation technologies’ impact on the lives of people with disabilities. The student will work with research and development staff, which typically involves user testing of prototype technology, supporting qualitative research methodologies including focus groups and interviews; supporting quantitative analyses; drafting project reports, and conducting policy research related to communications and computing technologies.
Desired Capabilities: Ability to work on multiple projects, and juggle time priorities, excellent research skills (knowledge of how to use library databases to search for scholarly articles), and ability to parse and absorb large amounts of policy related materials. As a significant portion of CACP’s work is in the form of written reports, newsletters and presentations, excellent writing, and communications skills are required.
