CACP research provides the foundation for the assessment and analysis of a range of technology related issues and inform contributions to federal rulemaking, and input into public sector policy-making process. While our research ranges from empirical foundational inquiry to in-depth-application of secondary and industry sources; a significant amount of our work relates to applied, policy-oriented research with significant social impact.
The primary technological focal areas of CACP -- related to digital communications and platforms and, connectivity; internet of things devices, services and platforms, and digitally facilitated communications modes such as social media and online participatory platforms, and the cultural impact of technology shifts; all have tremendous transformative capabilities. Our commitment to facilitate the positive impact of technology adoption also involves examination of barriers to adoption as well as developing policy-based mitigation to problematic aspects of digital technologies.
